Annual tradition

Air Force Marathon

Held every September since 1997, the Air Force Marathon weekend includes a full marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K, plus a sports and fitness expo.

Courses wind past historic flight lines and finish near the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, with aircraft flyovers often marking the start.

Tips for going

  • Base access requires following race-day security instructions — leave extra time.
  • Hotels in Fairborn and Beavercreek fill months ahead.
  • Spectators gather near the finish line by the museum.
